Working at Telcowin

Every workplace has a different culture and Telcowin is of course no different. With that, we at Telcowin thought that perhaps, an article and a podcast on what it is really like working at Telcowin would be a good idea since we are currently actively hiring.

So to begin with, lets introduce you to the team. We have many departments here but the biggest one is the Project Delivery Team. As an IT consulting company, this team is paramount in ensuring a smooth and efficient implementation for customers. Within the Project Delivery team, you will find the Salesforce Business Consulting team, Digital Adoption team, Project Management team, Engineering team, and the Campaign and Marketing team.

Quoting our Manager of People and Culture (formerly known as Human Resource) Hamdan Hafiz, the beauty of this is, all teams are able to work closely together because we practice hot-desking. This enables everyone to choose their spot and work hand in hand as a big family.

In terms of employee growth, our CEO Hafiz Izwan says when the pandemic forced everybody into digital expansion, it presented an opportunity for Telcowin. Organisations the world over suddenly found themselves working from home, online, utilizing cloud technology and this helped us grow three times our size post covid. What started off as a twenty people operation quickly became a company of seventy-five employees.

Meanwhile, our Salesforce Consulting Director, Naveen James is a foreigner working in Malaysia. With a background in the mechanical industry, he followed his wife from India to Malaysia a year ago. The intention was to see if the work environment in Malaysia suits him. He landed on Telcowin and the rest, as we say here, is history. He now feels truly at home as according to him, we are a big family.

Naveen isn’t the only foreigner employed at Telcowin. In fact, we have other colleagues from Pakistan, India, and even one as far as Kazakhstan. This is in line with Hafiz Izwan’s vision of having a multi-ethnic, multicultural, mixed gender no discrimination workspace. On top of that, employees are also free to dress as they please. Hafiz Izwan calls it a freedom of expression, like the time our colleague came to the office in a work blazer and shorts.

The idea is to feel at home at work.
